Overview:

Mr. Sun has extensive experience in patent prosecution and litigation, with a particular focus on mechanical and electromechanical inventions. Over the course of his career at NTD, he has represented numerous multinational companies including JDI, Toshiba, Panasonic, Canon and many others, in patent-related matters, including patent prosecution, patent infringement litigation, patent invalidation proceedings, and IP strategy consulting. He has handled a wide range of technical fields, including Medical Devices, AI-related Inventions, automotive components, industrial equipment, consumer electronics.

Mr. Sun has deep expertise in mechanical prosecution, having managed large patent portfolios for Japanese and international clients, overseeing the entire prosecution lifecycle from filing through grant, including office action responses, appeals, and reexamination proceedings. His technical proficiency enables him to efficiently navigate complex mechanical patent matters and to provide strategic prosecution advice tailored to clients' business objectives.

Participated in the representation of JDI in the patent infringement lawsuits in China, working in coordination with the legal teams handling the parallel cases in the US and Japan. The team successfully helped the client reach an overall beneficial settlement agreement across multiple jurisdictions.
