Recently, the 12th China-EU summit was held in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province. At the summit, a "Joint Statement of 12th China-EU summit" was signed.
The Joint Statement indicates that, both China and EU should establish an active, effectively executed and well operated IP protection system to promote sustainable economic development, and both sides agreed to enhance cooperation on IP protection.
At the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation under the current financial crisis and international trade slowdown, promote and facilitate bilateral trade and make progress in customs protection for IP. It is also hoped that the developed countries increase fund supports and transfer advanced technologies to developing countries.
