According to the Workshop on IP protection for foreign invested institutions, which was held in Chongqing, SIPO received in the first 3 quarters of 2009 a total of 707 cases related to patent infringement, 26 cases of patent disputes, 6 cases of passing-off patents, 400 cases of fake patents. In the first half of 2009, 9,763 enforcement officers were sent for enforcement and 4,708 commercial places were inspected. 930,000 products were checked. 4 cases were transferred to the agencies of public security and 3 cases were transferred from other departments. In terms of coordination in enforcement, there were 247 times of cross-agency efforts and 112 times of cross-regional efforts.
In addition, Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) also indicated that SPP is to promote the establishment of the IPR information sharing platform via internet between administrative departments and criminal judicial departments across the whole country, so that cases of IPR infringement could be handled in time.
