At the 4th East Asia Summit Forum held in Thailand, China signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on IPR Cooperation with the member states of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Under the MOU, the two sides will perform substantial cooperation in the field of intellectual property such as examination, quality control, training and automation and databases construction.
In addition to the MOU on IPR cooperation, China also signed other MOUs with ASEAN member states, i.e. The MOU on establishing the ASEAN-China Center and the MOU between ASEAN and China on Strengthening Cooperation in the Field of Standards, Technical Regulations and Conformity Assessment.
In order to further strengthen the multilateral cooperation with the individual ASEAN member states, China signed a framework agreement on economic cooperation with ASEAN countries of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.
