12315 is the national hotline for consumers in order to report complaints and receive short messaging services related to services. It is also a platform used by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) and local SAICs to safeguard the consumers’ rights and serve the social public. Recently, SAIC issued a Notice on Enhancing the Protection of 12315 Official Logo and requested relevant departments to intensify the protection of this official sign.
According to the Notice, the industry and commerce departments at all levels should use 12315 official logo in a standard way in their work places, office equipment, vehicle used for enforcement, website and domain name, publicity materials and 12315 liaison stations. The application of trademark that uses “12315” official logo will be rejected by the Trademark Office under SAIC. For the illegal actions that use “12315” official logo without the authorization of SAIC, the industry and commerce departments should rely on the trademark law and stop such acts. Additionally, all the industry and commerce departments should cooperate with press entities to publicize the work done by 12315 in order to create a favorable image of 12315.
