Recently, the Intellectual Property Office of Tibet Autonomous Region publicly tried the patent infringement disputes involving four design patent rights. This was the first time for Tibet IP Office to open to the public and heard patent infringement cases.
Before the trial, the officers from Tibet IP Office made detailed investigation and got support and assistance from the Patent Reexamination Board of the State IP Office. After three-hour-trial, the collegiate team believed that the accused three products were infringement products, while other accused products were not in the protection scope of patent rights and were not infringing products. The two parties accepted the decision by Tibet IP Office.
During the trial, Tibet IP Office also invited related officers from the Higher People's Court and Science and Technology Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, IP managers from local governmental departments and patent pilot enterprises to attend and hear the trial. By doing this, the IP office aimed at helping the attendees understand more about the IP system, especially patents in Tibet, publicizing IP legal system and national IP strategy, improving the law enforcement level of IP managers, as well as the IP awareness of local enterprises.
