In the first half of this year, the industry and commerce departments across China focused on the illegal activities of manufacturing and distributing counterfeit and inferior commodities to protect the rights of the consumers. A total of 41,700 cases were investigated and settled valuing 392 million Renminbi yuan.
In addition, the industry and commerce departments across China investigated and settled 216,700 cases related to operation with no business licenses, 14,900 cases involving illegal advertisements and 15,500 cases concerning trademarks.
A senior official from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce said that , in the second half of 2009, the industry and commerce departments will continue the activities of Quality and Safety Year, reinforce the supervision of commodity quality in the circulation area and severely combat the illegal activities involving manufacturing and distributing counterfeit and inferior commodities. Of course, efforts will also be made against the trademark infringement and counterfeit activities, false advertisement.
