In the first half of 2009, the registration of software increased rapidly in China. As of June 30, 29,804 applications for registration were received, an increase of 112.9% compared with 13,999 pieces in the same period in 2008. 28,748 were approved for registration an increase of 100.4% compared with the previous year. 38 transfer contracts of software copyrights and 75 licensing contracts of software copyrights were recorded; 1,034 registrations were related to change or supplement of contracts. 39 registrations were for pledge contracts of software copyrights.
