In order to promote and protect patent and accelerate independent innovation and invention, Zhengzhou of Henan province recently passed "Regulations on Patent Promotion and Protection" .According to the regulations, enterprises and institutions are encouraged to formulate patent strategy and patent technology standardization strategy. In addition, other areas of works should also be targeted such as patenting key technologies and commercializing patents. The local government shall provide assistance to the said projects.
To further support the patent applications and commercialization of patent, the regulations provide that patent award will be offered to those patentees who made and implement the inventions in the city and such inventions contribute significantly to the economic and social development of the city.
In addition, special funds will be used for patent applications, patent implementation, and other areas of work relating to the promotion and protection of patent.
