It is learnt from Tianjin Customs that 136,200 hoods and reticules were captured due to infringement of the trademarks "NIKE"、"ADIDAS"、"MANCHESTER UNITED". The capture is said to be the largest case even investigated by Tianjin Customs in recent years.
According to the Customs, the goods were declared as men shirts, cotton handkerchiefs and reticules. After review and analysis, Tianjin Customs believed that these goods had high risk of infringement. When the customs officials opened and checked the packages, they found a great deal of infringement goods being mixed into the exported commodities. Upon confirmation by the rightholders, these commodities were unauthorized and fake products.
As a routine measure, Tianjin Customs did a lot in IPR protection, especially the infringing activities in import and export. They have developed a dynamic analysis to focus on some targeted enterprises, goods and commodities so that efficient actions can be taken against the targeted products. Under the analysis, relevant information is to be considered including but not limited to manufacturing places, import countries, destinations, ertc.
By using the analysis, the Tianjin Customs investigated many IPR cases worthy of more than 10 Million Renminbi yuan. The infringing goods detained covered garments, trunks and bags, shoes and hats, raw materials of textile, industrial and farm tools, P.E. articles, etc.
