On May 8, the 11th China Franchise Expo was held in Beijing, which was hosted by China Chain Store & Franchise Association and organized by Beijing Sub-Council of China International Trade Promotion Committee. Nearly 200 brands such as KFC, Quan Ju De, Sun Bookstore, etc., showed their presence in this expo. Beijing IPR report and complaint center set up the working station at the expo.
Due to the operation model under franchising system, trade names, trademarks, patent, and trade secrets are important parts of the intellectual property. It is therefore essential to protect these IP under the franchising system. The IP working station at the Expo was to offer convenient services for right holders and the public, and improve the awareness of IPR protection by exhibitors and the public. Working staff of the working station also provided advice and helped settled the IP disputes during the Expo.
