According to Chongqing Intellectual Property Office, enterprises in Chongqing shall be funded by the government for patents granted overseas. Each granted patent shall be given 20,000 Renminbi yuan. The purpose is to help enterprises to promote their independent innovations and to create their own intellectual property for the international market.
The measure was made under the global financial crisis, targeting at assisting the local export-oriented enterprises in areas like patent searching, reduction of filing and prosecuting fees, IP litigation, etc.
