Noah Lost a Patent-Lawsuit of First Instance

As demand for hi-tech education products has grown in recent years, Noah Education Holding Ltd, the country's leading DLD provider, has been involved in a patent-violation lawsuit.

Recently, Noah Education Holding Ltd, together with its sales agency, lost the first instance of a lawsuit filed by Shenzhen-based VANHON Information and Technology Development Co.(hereinafter referred to as VANHON). Noah is the country's leading DLD provider and is well-known throughout the country.

In the lawsuit, Noah was accused of infringing VANHON's patent No. ZL200420003299.8 entitled digital pronunciation device. According to the decision, Noah was ordered to stop manufacturing and selling of its NP12 DLD products, and to pay 500,000 Renminbi yuan to VANHON.

VANHON is the developer of the technology of the digital pronunciation device. Its patent was granted in 2005. Since then, VANHON had done a lot of negotiations with companies infringing its patents but with few results. However, due to Noah's enormous advertising campaigns on TV and news media, Noah's DLD products has won more and more public attention, as a result of which Noah sales revenue increased rapidly.
