Lately, Dongyang city of Zhejiang province regulated that, any entity or individual within Dongyang city can get services free of charge from the designated patent agencies when filing patent applications. Filing fees will be settled between the Dongyang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the designated patent agency.
To be specific, the fees to be exempted should meet the following requirement: patent applications for inventions filed by individuals which enter into the substantive examination phase, utility model and design applications which are granted patents. In terms of the applications filed by entities, the entities should pay for fees that exceed the said standard. A subsidy of 7,000 Renminbi yuan shall be given when the patent is granted. No subsidy shall be provided for utility model patents and design patents.
