On April 2, the Third Circuit Tribunal of Patent Reexamination Board under State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was set up in Sichuan. On the same day, the SIPO Pilot Base for use of patent information was officially opened in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
It is learnt that the Patent Reexamination Board has set up the first and second circuit tribunal last year in Guangdong and Jiangsu respectively. The establishment of the tribunal and use of patent information is aimed at speeding up reform of the administrative system, building a service-oriented government, and strengthening social management and public services.
