According to a recent press conference by Shanghai Municipal Higher People's Court, a cross-district trial mechanism is being explored. Under the new mechanism, 4 district courts in Shanghai will act as the first instance court for general IP cases. The four district courts were all approved by the Supreme People’s Court. They are Pudong New Area, Huangpu, Yangpu and Luwan District.
