Recently a press briefing was held on national campaign against pornography and illegal publications. According to the briefing, National Copyright Administration (NCA), together with Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Security and General Administrations for Press and Publications, jointly issued a Provisions for Reward of Informants against the Production and Distribution of Pornographic Publications, Infringement, Piracy and Other Illegal Publications (hereinafter the provisions). The provisions will increase the reward to the informants.
According to the provisions, relevant departments are required to further improve the reward mechanism, especially the measures against the activities such as fake news, pseudo journalist, production, distribution and sale of illegal publication, etc. By establishing the reward system, the public is encouraged to be more involved in IP protection.
Of course, relevant government departments will timely reward the informants after verification of the cases while at the same time keep confidential all information of the informant.
