It is reported from the National Meeting of IP Office Directors that in 2008, China made breakthrough in IP law enforcement and protection through a series of IP law enforcement actions, such as “Thunderstorm” and “Skynet”.
According to Commissioner of State Intellectual Property Office, in 2008, IP related agencies across China launched special campaigns for protection of intellectual property. More than 17,056 enforcement officials were involved. 7671 investigations were made into business venues, and 2.11 million goods were inspected.
A total of 1092 disputes related to patent infringement were received by IP offices across the country. In addition there were 34 other patent disputes, 59 counterfeit patent cases and 601 pass-ff of patent cases.
