A recent hearing was held in Nanjing to discuss Regulations on Copyright Protection in Jiangsu Province. More than 20 experts and scholars from Beijing, Shanghai and Jiangsu were invited to attend the hearing.
The Regulations were first drafted by the Jiangsu provincial copyright administration before comments or suggestions were solicited. They are considered to be an important measure for improving the copyright protection and administrative level in Jiangsu province. It is also to comply with the state IP strategy and safeguard the interests of both Chinese and foreign rightholders.
Invited experts made their comments and suggestions on how to better implement the copyright law and solve problems related to the copyright. It is clear that the implementation of the regulations in Jiangsu province will set a good example for other provinces in China in formulating the similar local regulations.
