In recent days, Clarivate, a London information service provider, issued Top 100 Global Innovators 2021, the 10th annual report since the year of 2012. Four enterprises from mainland of China were selected in this ranking, i.e., Huawei, Tencent, MIUI and Datang Telecom Technology & Industry Group (owned by China Information Communication Technologies Group Corporation).These innovators were selected for their patent power and innovation culture. Compared with Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 Index, the consecutively-selected innovators for a decade have sustained faster growth on market value from October 2014 to October 2020, an average of almost 2.5 times.
In face of tougher environment, the innovation has become the engine for driving economic recovery and growth. The Top 100 Innovators 2021 focused on the implicit value of innovation, and quantization of economic value. On the basis of analysis, 28 listed firms among the 29 innovators consecutively selected for the past ten years, recorded almost 2.5 times growth and faster than the Dow Jones Industrial Average. And each of them enjoyed an average market value growth of 5.7 million dollars compared with the innovators who did not appear on the list from 2013 to 2014.
Top 100 Innovators 2021 is featured with:
1. The Top 100 innovators are distributed over 14 countries and regions of 3 continents.
2. US ranked top 1 with 42 listed innovators, followed by Japan (29).
3. 9 innovators ranked in the list for the first time, 6 of which has ranked in the list of “notable innovators”.
4. A maximum of the innovators are in the area of electronics (21) and semiconductors (12).
