From September 23 to 26, 2018, the AIPPI World Congress, known as the “Intellectual Property Olympics”, was held in Cancun of Mexico. As a global feast for the intellectual property communities, the annual AIPPI World Congress has always led the development trend of the global intellectual property industry and attracted the global intellectual property (IP) practitioners.

The congress of this year attracted the representatives from over 100 countries and regions around the world included lawyers, patent attorneys, trademark attorneys, IP practitioners in the enterprises, government officials, etc. A team of representatives from NTD attended the congress, led by Ms. Heather Lin, vice chairman of AIPPI China Group and vice president of NTD Intellectual Property Attorneys, Mr. Miao Zheng, deputy manager of legal department, Ms. Wang Lijun, patent attorney, and Mr. Yu Shijie, patent attorney. They shared their experience and exchanged views with the worldwide experts. Ms. Heather Lin attended the discussion on conflicting applications and the voting held by executive committee of AIPPI, and Mr. Miao Zheng shared his suggestions on the joint liability issues of IP infringement at the expert meeting.

At the congress, the NTD representatives also met with the counterparts and business partners, introduced the firm’s current situation and future development blueprint, and further enhanced mutual understanding and trust with colleagues from other countries.
