From November 29 to December 1, 2018, the 2018 Annual Conference on Protection of New Plant Varieties & the 10th Forum on China Agricultural Intellectual Property (IP) were successfully held in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province. This event was organized by China Agricultural Technology Management Association. The purpose was to study the agricultural intellectual property theory and practice in the new era, to better promote the rural revitalization, to foster new a new driving power for the agricultural and rural development, to further implement the Outline of the National Intellectual Property Strategy and the Outline of the Agricultural Intellectual Property Strategy, and to provide support for building an intellectual property power nation.

Dr. Kou Fei from NTD Intellectual Property Attorneys was invited to deliver a keynote speech on Current Situations and Future Prospects of Judicial Practice of New Varieties of Plant Rights Violation. Dr. Kou highlighted the existing provision relating to the infringement of new varieties of plant, and presented the established judicial practice and the latest approaches from the typical cases and guiding cases concluded by the Supreme People' s Court. Moreover, Mr. Kou also shared his views on the legal basis and the current system.
