Senior Partner Ms. Cao Wen Deliver Speech on Innovative Patents Protection in “2018 Boao Surgery Forum”

From December 7 to 9, 2018, 2018 Boao Surgery Forum was successfully held in Boao targeting at promotion of the development of various aspects of the surgical field in China and enhancement of international academic exchange. The Forum was under the guidance of  the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hainan Province, and named by Ethicon (a subsidiary company of Johnson & Johnson). The forum was divided into four sub-forums on  the Thoracic Surgery,the Gastrointestinal Surgery , the Surgical Innovation , and the Top Issues on Hepar Surgery. Representatives include the presidents of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the  experts and scholars in the field of surgical innovation. They shared the achievement and exchange views on  the research data, frontier researches and  the latest development and achievement of technology innovations.

Ms. Cao Wen, senior partner at NTD Intellectual Property Agency and the principal of NTD Shanghai Office, was invited to the Surgical Innovation Sub-Forum and delivered a speech on “Overview on Strategic Management of Intellectual Property (IP)”. Ms. Cao shared the IP protection strategies for technology innovations and introduced the current status and development tendency of medical patent applications. Her  professional advice were  widely welcomed by the attendees. With the continuous advancement of Chinese surgical technique, the innovation is undergoing rapid development, and the patent protection of new technologies has become a big  concern among  medical practitioners.
