On the morning of September 3, 2018, “Forum on Overseas Protection of Intellectual Property Rights of Chinese Enterprises”, sponsored by the CTMO, CNIPA, was held in Chaoyang Hall of Tangshan Southlake International Convention and Exhibition Hotel. Senior partner Christopher Shen was invited to serve as commentator.
“Forum on Overseas Protection of Intellectual Property Rights of Chinese Enterprises” was comprised of three sections. In the first section, Liu Yi, director of General Office, CTMO, CNIPA, notified the latest progress in the overseas protection of trademark rights among Chinese enterprises. Li Rong, associate researcher of Protection Coordination Department , CNIPA, introduced the overview of the overseas protection of patent rights among Chinese enterprises.

In the second section, Wang Yan, deputy director of General Office, CTMO, CNIPA, Chen Yonghua, section chief of the Trademark and Advertisement Office of Shantou Administration for Industry and Commerce, Guangdong, and Professor Ning Lizhi, Director of Intellectual Property and Competition Law Research Institute of Wuhan University, introduced cases of protection of intellectual property rights among Chinese enterprises in Chile from the perspectives of trademark office, local Administration for Industry & Commerce, market supervision and academy.
Senior partner Christopher Shen was invited to participate in the following section of “Discussion on Typical Cases of Overseas Protection of Trademark among Chinese Enterprises”. He held heated discussion and communication with Zhong Shan, Director of Trademark Division of Shandong Administration for Industry and Commerce, Professor Ning Lizhi, Director of Intellectual Property and Competition Law Research Institute of Wuhan University, around the hot issues of the overseas protection of intellectual property rights among Chinese enterprises, and another two typical cases, i.e., Cheng Hai Toys’ s protection of intellectual property rights in Chile and China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial’ s protection of intellectual property rights in Vietnam. The discussion provided valuable suggestions for the overseas protection of intellectual property rights among Chinese enterprises.
