Recently, the Sword Net 2017 special action was jointly launched by the National Copyright Administration, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Public Security. Starting from July, the four-month long special action will focus on the copyright management of key works and the investigation of infringement in fields of films, news, e-commerce platforms and apps.
It is noted that the special action will intensify the efforts to protect journalism copyrights through cracking down on unauthorized reprinting, spreading, excerpting and distorting of news works, and giving full play to the alliance for news media copyright protection with a target to guiding the cooperation between traditional media and commercial websites, and improving the license payment mechanism for copyright reprinting.
