Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the 2017 working points for fight against intellectual property infringement and sale of counterfeits (hereinafter the working points), which covers 31 points in 7 aspects.
According to the working points, China will strengthen the administration in key fields through the management of online transactions, continuing the governance of rural and urban markets, and carrying out the Cool Breeze special action to protect the image of made-in-China overseas. In the meanwhile, China will intensify the efforts in countering intellectual property infringement; including handling the infringement acts, enhancing administrative enforcement for trademark and copyright protection, and promoting the use of copyrighted software and protection of new plants varieties.
China will attach importance to the construction of regulations by accelerating the amendment of related laws and regulations, promoting credit construction, combining the rewards and punishments and establishing check and evaluation mechanism. China will also focus on improving international exchange and cooperation by means of negotiation, multi-lateral enforcement actions, mechanism for rights protection overseas, encouraging local government to cooperate with related countries and regions on fighting against infringement and counterfeit activities.
