    Chinese Brands Day established

    Recently, 9 governmental departments, including National Development and Reform Commission (hereinafter NDRC), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Industry & Commerce, held a media briefing to introduce the background and significance of setting up Chinese Brands Day. Approximately, 60 central new media and commercial media presented the briefing.

    On April 24, the State Council approved to set 10th of May every year as the Chinese Brands Day starting from 2017. Related departments in NDRC are responsible for specific implementations. The establishment of Chinese Brands Day helps to promote the awareness for independent brands, brands development and protection.

    In future, China will focus on the full role of market, enterprises and society to cultivate self-owned brands, and improve overall competitiveness of enterprises. China will also overcome the restricting factors for independent brands, and enhance the quality, innovation, integrity, culture, talents and marketing. Efforts will be made to improve top-level design, establish coordination mechanism and carry out unified actions to develop self-owned brands.
