According to the commissioner of SIPO, China will promote the transition of intellectual property application to commercialization by accelerating the building of intellectual property operation platform, deepening the mechanism in interests distribution and cultivating intellectual property intensive industries.
As for the tasks in 2017, China will form the work pattern for intellectual property protection, including examination, grant, registration, administrative enforcement, legal protection, arbitration and self-regulation within industries. In 2017, more IP protection centers will be established to coordinate the expedited protection, verification, examination and grant procedures. Efforts will also be made to intensify the intellectual property enforcement, especially in fields of internet and security. Further, the amendment of the Patent Law will be promoted to overcome the difficulties in IP protection such as difficulty of submitting proof, high cost, long pendency, etc.
