According to the statistics from National Copyright Administration (hereinafter NCAC), in 2016, the total number of copyright registrations have reached 2,007,698, an increase of 22.33%, as compared to the same period of the previous year, wherein, 1,599,597 are registrations of works, 407,774 are registrations of computer software, and 327 are pledge registrations.
With the implementation of national intellectual property strategy and innovation-driven development strategy, enterprises and institutions become more and more aware of the importance of copyrights. The working capacities of local registration agencies have improved, and the number of copyright registrations maintained a high growth rate.
The statistics also show that, the number of copyright registrations exceeded 1,000,000 for the first time in 2013, and by 2015, it reached 1,640,000. It merely took two years for the number of software registrations to increase from 200,000 in 2014 to 400,000 in 2016.
