Recently, China Academy of Agricultural Sciences released the report on value creation index of intellectual property in Chinese agriculture (hereinafter the report). The report indicates that the value creation index of intellectual property in agriculture has rapidly increased. Nevertheless, a huge disparity still exists in the creation capability between the east and the west part of China.
The report used the number of applications, granted patents, and validity period in 2014 as its basis. After certain calculation, 2015 witnesses a rapid growth of innovation level in Chinese agriculture. It is also noted that there are only 2.9 invention patents out of 10,000 agriculture employees.
