Recently, the 2016-2020 Development Plan of Robot Industry (hereinafter the Plan) is released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, and Ministry of Finance.
It is reported that China has become the world largest robot application market since 2013. In 2014, 57,000 robots were sold in China, an increase of 56% as compared to same period of the previous year, which accounted for 1/4 of global sales. A relatively perfect robot system has taken shape in China in the past five years. At the same time, the capacity for technological innovation and international competitiveness is noticeably enhanced, for example, the performance and quality of products reached the international level. Major breakthrough was made in crucial parts to meet the market demand.
As the development and industrialization of robot is of great significance to industrial transformation and upgrading, the plan proposed that by 2020, the annual output of industrial robots will reach 100,000 and the annual sales revenue of service robots will exceed 30 billion Yuan. In addition to that, more than 3 leading enterprises with international competitiveness will be cultivated.
It is noted that a good market environment is to be formed by formulating industrial guidelines for industrial robots, promoting concentration of resources to competitive enterprises, and encouraging high-end oriented development. Besides, intellectual property system will be established, including industrial statistical system and service platform.
