At a recent workshop, a higher official from the State Administration of Industry and Commerce said that administrations for industry and commerce across China will enhance the capacity against infringement and counterfeit acts relating to trademark, mainly in the following 4 aspects:

    1.      Focusing on credit supervision and promoting the construction of legal system.

    2.      Giving full play to administrative enforcement and judicial protection to form the complementary and coordinative protection mode.

    3.      Accelerating the establishment of national information network to supervise and punish the trademark infringement and counterfeit acts.

    4.      Improving the efficiency of information reporting system, consultation and supervision of transmitting cases.

It is noted that in 2015, administrations for industry and commerce and market supervision departments investigated 27,400 trademark infringement and counterfeit cases involving 367,000,000 Yuan, and 238 criminal cases which involves 120,000,000 Yuan were transmitted to judicial authorities.
