Recently, the State Council issued the Opinions on Stabilizing and Improving Foreign Trade, which proposed 14 policies and measures in 5 aspects.
The opinions require that the intellectual property right in foreign trade should be further protected. Special actions will be continuously launched against infringement and counterfeit acts in foreign trade. China will also push forward the settlement of overseas disputes for intellectual property. Meanwhile, multilateral and bilateral exchange and enforcement will be enhanced to help import and export enterprises to deal with intellectual property disputes and to prevent ill-will registrations and litigations overseas. Supervision will be reinforced to help foreign trade enterprises to cope with international technical barrier to trade.
It is also noted that China will accelerate the nurturing of self-owned brands. Specific funds will be used for the overseas acquisitions of brands and patents and the building of international marketing system.
