The Inter-ministerial joint meeting for implementing Intellectual Property Strategy established

Recently, the State Council approved the establishment of Inter-ministerial joint meeting for implementing Intellectual Property Strategy (hereinafter the joint meeting) to further carry out the Outline of the National Intellectual Property Strategy and Opinions on Accelerating the Development of China into a Strong Power with Intellectual Property.

It is reported that major responsibility of the joint meeting includes: to coordinate the implementation of National Intellectual Property Strategy and the building of strong power with intellectual property, to enhance macro guidance, to study major guidelines and policies for further implementation, to formulate the implementation plan for intellectual property strategy, to supervise and inspect the execution of relevant policies and measures, and to perform other tasks assigned by the State Council.

With SIPO taking the lead, the joint meeting is composed of 31 ministries and departments, including the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration of Industry and Commerce, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio Film and Television, etc.
