According to the statistics released by SIPO, the top ten rankings concerning patents and patent applications among Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities are listed below.
Top 10 Provinces, Autonomous Regions and Municipalities in terms of the filing of invention patent applications in 2015 include: Jiangsu (154,608), Guangdong (103,941), Shandong (93,475), Beijing (88,930), Anhui (68,314), Zhejiang (67,674), Shanghai (46,976), Sichuan (40,437), Chongqing (35,086), and Guangxi (30,815).
Top 10 Provinces, Autonomous Regions and Municipalities regarding the number of granted invention patents in 2015 include: Jiangsu (36,015), Beijing (35,308), Guangdong (33,477), Zhejiang (23,345), Shanghai (17,601), Shandong (16,881), Anhui (11,180), Sichuan (9,105), Hubei (7,766), and Shanxi (6,812).
