Recently, the statistics from SIPO show that in 2015, SIPO received 1,102,000 patent applications for inventions, an increase of 18.7% as compared with the same period of the previous year. It is noted that the number of China’s patent applications for inventions ranked first in the world for the fifth consecutive year.
With regard to the granted patents, a total of 359,000 patents were granted in 2015, of which 263,000 patents were granted to domestic applicants, an increase of 61.9%. Of all the granted patents, 239,000 patents were service inventions.
