    Approximately 4,000 patent infringement and counterfeiting cases handled in e-business

    The recent statistics from SIPO show that in the first 11 months of 2015, the intellectual property offices across the country prosecuted approximately 4,000 patent infringement and counterfeiting cases relating to e-business. This is a result of the working experience, innovative network supervision, clue sharing and case studying. Further the role of the national IP assistance center in providing the advice increased the efficiency of IP protection and promoted the administration of network.

    In 2014, the State Council first issued the Working Plans for the IP Protection in E-Business. Thereafter, SIPO made progress in patent enforcement relating to e-business. In 2014, the intellectual property offices across the country handled over 2,800 patent infringement and counterfeiting cases.

    SIPO official indicated that more efforts will be made to strengthen the IP protection and enhance the administration of internet. Patent illegal acts will be strictly watched and removed on the internet. An online coordination mechanism will be built to increase the efficiency of patent enforcement.
