Recently, China released 2015 Annual Report on the Campaign against Intellectual Property Right Infringements and Counterfeits (hereinafter the Report) which is the first comprehensive publication that reflected China’s efforts against infringements and counterfeited activates. According to the Report, in 2014, the satisfaction rate from the public with intellectual property protection was 69.4%, increased by 4.5% as compared to that of 2013.
It is reported that in 2014, administrative enforcement organizations investigated and settled 178,000 counterfeit cases; public security organizations handled over 28,000 criminal cases; procuratorial organizations issued arrest warrants for more than 9,000 cases and prosecuted over 18,000 cases; and judicial organizations concluded more than 18,000 cases. Nevertheless, a survey showed that, in the second half of 2014, complaints for sales of counterfeit products showed a decline, as compared to the first half of 2014.
