Recently, under the guidance of Beijing Intellectual Property Office, the first Intellectual Property Alliance for Automobile Industry (the Alliance) in China was established in Beijing.
It is reported that the 23 alliance members which initiated the Alliance are vehicle enterprises including Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd.; automotive parts enterprises; universities and institutions including Beijing University of Technology, Thomson Reuters; and intellectual property agencies.
The Alliance aims to form the collaborative model for joint management of intellectual property among alliance members, to improve the capability of innovation and commercialization, and to carry out all-around and multi-level cooperation on the basis of joint management of patents. The establishment of the Alliance will form a core patents network and patent pool and encourage the innovative abilities of the members.
