At a recent workshop held by members of China APP Legitimate Alliance (hereinafter the Alliance) including National Mobile Media Committee, CCTV.com, Sohu.com Inc. and Youku. com Inc., over 50 representatives from competent departments, organizations and enterprises cooperatively explored ways to establish a long-term mechanism for cracking down on video infringement and piracy on mobile internet and protecting of legitimate copies.
With the development of mobile internet, more and more people got used to watching videos on mobile devices. A large number of network video users rapidly flowed from PC devices to mobile devices, especially in recent two years. In face of the situation that the infringement and piracy of videos have moved from websites to mobile APPs, the major APPs and key products within the Alliance will be monitored and protected by effective supervision to serve the patentees.
It is reported that one of the key missions of the Sword Net 2015, a Special Action which was launched by National Copyright Administration, Cyberspace Administration, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Public Security, was to crack down on the infringement and piracy of APPs on mobile devices and to regulate the copyright order of APP enterprises and APP stores.
Representatives from mobile APP stores, such as, 360 Mobile Assistant, APP. MI, etc., also presented at the workshop and intended to cooperate with the supervision of competent departments.
