At a recent workshop for the copyright protection of network cloud storage, the Alliance for Legitimate Videos on Internet (hereinafter the Alliance) was established. The Alliance, initiated by several internet companies including Sohu.com Inc., Youku. com Inc. and Phoenix New Media Ltd., was aimed at maintaining the order of the copyright market through the self-discipline and mutual aid of alliance members.
Members of the Alliance made commitment to provide the public with legitimate and high quality movies on their own platforms. They also promised to obey the basic principle of use after authorization.
The establishment of the Alliance is one of the achievements under the Sword Net 2015, a Special Action launched by National Copyright Administration, Cyberspace Administration, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Public Security against piracy and infringement over the internet.
