The State Council recently announced the establishment of the National Leading Group for Building Manufacturing Power (hereinafter the Group) in June. With Vice Premier Ma Kai appointed as its head, the office of the Group which is responsible for daily work is located in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Members of the Group are Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, State Intellectual Property Office, etc.
The Group is of great importance to the overall deployment of building manufacturing power. The main responsibilities of the Group are to coordinate the overall work of constructing manufacturing power; review and promote major plans, projects, arrangements and policies in manufacturing development; strengthen strategy planning and provide guidance to various regions and departments; enhance the supervision, inspection and implementation of major tasks.
The Group serves as another significant practical measure following the publication of the China Manufacturing 2025 Plan.
