Within one month since its establishment and operation, Guangzhou IP court received 539 various IP cases, among which there were 313 first instance cases and 226 second instance cases. Apart from the 10 cases being dismissed after examination, 275 out of 303 pending first instance cases were related to patent disputes which accounted for 91% of the total cases. Of all patent dispute cases, 209 were related to design patent, 49 utility models, and 15 patents for inventions. In addition, there were 18 copyright dispute cases and 10 trademark dispute cases. Guangzhou IP Court has finished the scheduling work for 299 cases all of which will soon enter court trial procedures.
