The current Copyright Law expected to be revised in China

    3/16/2015|EVENTS

Recently, the related authorities under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China have made comprehensive amendments to the current Copyright Law, which was already submitted to the State Council for review.

It’s reported that in order to accelerate the process of copyright law legislation work, the Legal Affairs Office of the State Council and the General Committee of the National People's Congress have done many studies and research, in particular on major issues of the Copyright law.

The current Copyright Law is incomplete in summarizing all forms or types of infringing behaviors, and the collective management regulations of copyrights needs to be improved. The revised Copyright law is expected to be more scientific in defining the scope of infringing behaviors, expand the scope of civil liability for infringement, as well as to establish the copyright protection mechanism to adapt to the digitalization of social environment.
