Recently, the work report of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate was released. According to the report, in 2014, all levels of courts across China handled a total of 110,000 first instance IP cases, an increase of 10% compared with the previous year. The procuratorial organs prosecuted 9, 427 people involved in infringement of trademarks, patents, copyrights and trade secrets etc., an increase of 7.1%.
It’s reported that the Supreme People's Court, the IP Courts in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou played important roles in the judicial protection of intellectual property rights. And in 2015, the Supreme People's Court will seek to remove the barriers in the field of investment consumption and foreign trade and intellectual property to create a fair environment for economic and social development. The Supreme People's Procuratorate will establish an IP enforcement platform with related authorities to further intensify judicial protection of intellectual property.
