China further implements the IP strategy in 2015

    1/25/2015|EVENTS

Chinese government recently issued the Action Plan implementing National Intellectual Property 2014---2020 (hereinafter the Action Plan). According to the Action Plan, the following targets are to be carried:

    •  The number of patents owned per 10,000 populations will rise to 14 in 2020 from 4 in 2013.
    • The IP commercialization will be enhanced. China will concentrate more on the patent quality while striving to increase the quantity. Number of key patents, well-known marks and copyrighted master works is to be increased.
    • The government will encourage banks, security institutions and insurance companies to provide IP financing services and guide the enterprises to expand their IP pledge and encourage them to develop business in the world.

It’s learnt that in spite of the significant number of patent and trademark applicationS as well as the copyright registrations, China is still far from a powerful IP country.
