Recently, China Intellectual Property Index Report 2014(hereinafter as Report 2014) was published in Beijing by the research group. This is the sixth report of its kind.
The statics of the report were jointly studied by scholars and experts of economy field, IP field and law areas. It reflects the association between intellectual property and the economic development of different regions in the most accurate and persuasive way.
According to the Report, Beijing ranks the first in terms of comprehensive IP strength, followed by Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong and Zhejiang. Other five regions ranked among the top ten include Tianjin, Shandong, Liaoning, Fujian and Chongqing.
The statistics showed that the gap still exists between eastern developed areas and western developing regions in comprehensive IP strength. While the eastern areas show an overwhelming advantage over other areas in China and the lowest IP comprehensive ratings are all in the central and western regions, the middle west area shows an upgrade tendency in comprehensive IP strength.
