Recently, China’s first Border Protection Alliance of Intellectual Property (hereinafter as the Alliance) was established by ten industry associations in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province.
The establishment of the Alliance is assumed to help the member enterprises to overcome problems with IP protection abroad, promote self-regulation within industries and encourage enterprises to collaboratively participate in international IP competition.
The alliance will carry out promotion of IP border protection, brand building and formulation of industry regulations. Liaison system will also be built among industry associations. Coordination will be strengthened between the alliance and the Municipal Intellectual Property Office, the Guangzhou Customs, and the Whampoa Customs.
