NIPPON SHOKUBAI Co., Ltd recently filed a lawsuit before Beijing No.2 Intermediate People's Court against Liaoning Kelong Fine Chemical Co., Ltd and another Chinese company for infringement of NIPPON SHOKUBAI's Chinese patent ZL01138461, a kind of cement dispersant with its composition, performing high dispersing quality in high water-reducing ratio field.
Liaoning Kelong Fine Chemical Co. Ltd is a domestic company which engages in fine chemicals production. Its polycarboxylic acid type water-reducer for high performance concrete has been awarded the second prize for the National Innovation Award for Building Material Industry.
Before the court, NIPPON SHOKUBAI claimed that it has long been engaged in the research and development activities to improve the property and technological processing of polymers of concrete admixture, and the patent right generated during the R& D process was one of the most important and valuable business resources for the company. NIPPON SHOKUBAI also claimed that the manufacturing and selling of polymers for concrete admixture in construction industry of the defendants infringed its patent right, therefore requested the defendants to cease infringement immediately and pay a total of 40 million RMB for compensation.
The case is still pending.
