Recently, a national working conference on combating IP infringement and counterfeiting was held in Beijing, at which accomplishments of IP protection in 2014 were presented.
According to the meeting, administrative departments at all levels in China handled more than 40,000 cases on IP infringement and counterfeiting from January to April. Among all the cases up to 3,700 were handled by Chinese public security departments with 6,000 criminal suspects being arrested, 1,700 handled by Procuratorate organs with 2,700 suspects involved and 5,100 concluded by judicial organs.
The meeting indicated that the Key Work Points for Crackdowns on IP Infringement and Counterfeiting in 2014 should be strictly implemented, such as to intensively investigate and dispose counterfeiting agricultural products, pharmaceutical, construction materials, auto spare parts as well as automotive oil fuel etc., and to disclose information of administrative punishment cases to improve public awareness to resist counterfeiting goods.
